This notice explains how cookies and similar technologies work on our website and how you can manage your choices.

Version 1.0 · Effective 19 October 2026

1. Who we are

Thornton & Lowe Limited operates this website. Contact hello@thorntonandlowe.com or 01204 238 046. Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal information and how to exercise your rights.

Cookies store small pieces of information on a device. Local storage and session storage can also remember information in your browser. Some support functions you request, such as signing in; others enable optional external content.

2. Your choices

Essential storage supports account access, security and your cookie choices. It is used when needed to provide the service you request. Blocking it may prevent signing in or a requested feature from working.

Use Cookie settings to review or change optional choices. You can reject optional use without losing access to the main website. Optional technologies that require consent must wait until you agree. You can withdraw that choice at any time. Your browser also lets you inspect and delete cookies and other stored information.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager tracking snippets are currently disabled on this website. We will update this notice and the consent controls before introducing optional tracking.

3. Cookies and browser storage

The information below covers the account system, consent controls and the services used by this website. Not every item is set on every visit. It depends on the page, your choices and whether you sign in.

WordPress account cookies, including wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_*
Purpose: Keep you signed in and protect account access
Duration and control: Normally the browser session, with authentication valid for up to two days; selecting Remember me normally allows up to 14 days. Signing out clears authentication cookies. Essential for account access.

wordpress_test_cookie, WordPress
Purpose: Check whether the browser accepts cookies when using sign in
Duration and control: Browser session. Essential for the sign in function.

cmplz_* cookies, Complianz on our domain
Purpose: Remember your consent status, policy version and selected categories or services
Duration and control: Up to 180 days under our current setting, unless cleared earlier. Essential to respect your choices.

pd-requested-tool, session storage on our domain
Purpose: Remember the tool you requested while moving between sign in and your workspace
Duration and control: Browser tab session or until cleared. Supports the feature you requested.

hCaptcha, Intuition Machines
Purpose: Protect registration and sign in against bots and abuse
Duration and control: The provider lists hmt_id for technical and accessibility support for 30 days; routing and accessibility cookies can last up to 30 days and its security cookie up to one day. The cookies used depend on the security interaction.

The hCaptcha provider explains its security processing and cookie details at https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy. It receives technical information when its protection loads, such as an IP address and browser information. Our Privacy Notice explains service providers and international transfers.

4. External content and your files

Some pages offer Google Maps or other external content. These providers receive technical information when their content loads and may use their own cookies or storage. Use the consent controls for optional content. Google explains its technologies and durations at https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. Following a normal link to another website takes you to that provider and its own privacy arrangements.

A working document downloaded to your device is a file you control. It is separate from cookies and browser storage, and closing your account does not delete your own downloaded files.

5. Contact and updates

For help with your choices or a question about storage, contact hello@thorntonandlowe.com. We review this notice when our services, providers or storage settings change.
